My Experiences With Ghosts and Spirits

A personal account of the encounters I interpret as spirits, the people I believe I have helped, and the limits I have learned to respect.

The first encounter I understood that way

I trace this part of my work back to an experience that began when my dog seemed to notice someone I could not see. I interpreted the figure as a man from a television show who had died, remembered for a troublesome car and a fondness for cigarettes.

In the story as I experienced it, he wanted a cigarette and a beer. I happened to have a beer in the cupboard, so I put it out, lit a cigarette, and sat outside. I made a door, a name, and a key in my mind—an image I have since used when I believe someone is ready to move on.

Helping, listening, and limits

I have felt drawn to comfort people I believe have passed, including younger ones. I may talk with them, tell them they are remembered, and imagine a place they can leave through when they choose. Some seem unwilling to go, and some situations feel beyond what I can help with.

I do not take that limit as proof of a particular afterlife. It is a boundary within my experience, and one that reminds me not to promise outcomes I cannot know.

Other people’s experiences

A friend once told me about speaking with a child he believed was present during a drive. I have also worked with a woman in the Williams Lake area who told me that two siblings had died along the same stretch of highway. I interpreted the conversations and personalities that followed through my own spiritual lens.

These stories matter to me because of the care and emotion involved. They are not independent verification, and I avoid presenting them as proof of what happens after death.

A continuing practice

I estimate that I have helped just under a hundred spirits, in the language I use for these experiences. I have kept private records and images of some encounters, but I will not publish identifying names or material about other people without permission. A personal archive is not the same thing as independent evidence.

Some encounters arrived at very ordinary, very inconvenient moments. Once, while I was in a hot tub with my former partner, I heard a voice with an accent and associated it with someone I believed had died. The timing had a darkly comic quality, but I experienced it as serious. Even the afterlife, in my telling, has questionable scheduling.

The framework I bring

My spiritual framework is rooted in what I call true source, God, Jesus, and the archangels. I have also used language about seraphim and other named spiritual beings. That faith shapes how I understand compassion, protection, and helping someone move from darkness toward light.

Readers do not need to share my beliefs to understand the account. They only need to know where my interpretation comes from, and that spiritual experiences should be held alongside practical care and appropriate professional support.
